Hey all,
I will be there for sure... hopefully.. my scope will be working by then so we can get some of that photography done Carly...
Thats right, got home to a near perfect sky and thought it would be a good opportunity to take a happy snap or two... and my scope is stuffed...AGAIN :(..this time it looks a bit more serious, Ill ring Bintel tomorrow and hopefully...whatever the hell is wrong with it this time...will be fixed in time for Saturday night.
Either way, ill be there..scope or no scope. So disappointing... but then again..it is "only a Meade" hahahahaha

Don't worry Andrew, the skies were (at first) looking really clear here too and I was planning to drive somewhere locally (to make up for Saturday night's crappy weather) but it pretty quickly clouded over, luckily before I left. No doubt you would have been just setup to take your first picture when the clouds came in! Weather is looking pretty bleak for the next couple of days anyway. Still, hope you get it sorted without too much trouble! And hopefully more permanently..

Cool. Remind me Andrew and I will bring the instruction manual with me. I also have just bought a remote off ebay. Hopefully it will be nice and clear for Saturday night. Yeah we thought the same Patrick, we got home and it was clear and contemplated taking the scopes out, but there was a lot of light pollution about (or maybe our eyes we used to Wiruna lol).

Well, 7-Timer predicts a clear night, dropping to around 13 degrees for Saturday.

I went to BIAS the other day and bought a 12v hair dryer. $19.95. Sweeeeet.

clubhouse is still not available to us yet though

I have to be up super early in the morning and was busy this evening so could not really make it :(.. But ima go out on the deck and have a look thru the binos and think about how much better it would be up there away from the light polution i have here :rolleyes:

Good turnout considering all those that couldn't make it.
Had a very clear night for the duration and seeing at times was pretty good.
Newcomers James and Anna I think had a good experience with a nicely set up scope, but I think we spoiled them for some views, and I reckon there will be a couple of purchases pretty soon down the track.
The new clubhouse is looking like it will be very comfortable and the Pony Club have done an excellent job. We may be able to use the facilities quite soon now. Thanks to all for the great company as usual. Cheers:thumbsup:

The seeing was the best that I have seen there, even allowing for a 30% moon.

The only issues we had were with the wind. It was just strong enough to be a pain.

yep - not as good a nite as expected - but reasonable just the same

we had 10 bodies all told for the nite - so not a bad rollup

must have been around 2am when the dew got the better of us all and it was time to pack up and leave

Thanks guys. We had a great night.

Rick spoiled us rotten with lots of expensive toys and endless advice. Needless to say we'll be a bit poorer soon. Got some great mod ideas from the wise old owl (with a bad case of YD!) that i'll no doubt be putting into practice.

In the end the dew was crazy and I think my toes nearly froze off. But it was all worth it and I (we) can't wait to come back (hopefully slightly better equipped...)

Thanks everyone for a great night (although the dew and the wind were not a good combo with my cold!). We were definitely spoiled with many of Rick's gadgets, and I can confirm there will be many meals of two minute noodles coming our way!
