For those on DST, it ended at 3am this morning
Don't foget to adjust your clocks, and depending on what manufacturer of Mount you have, turn off DST on your Mount settings
My EQ6 has the old Skyscan v2.5a hand controller so I have to still use DST for about another 2 weeks. Bit of a trap for the v2.5a owners

finally! Sick of sleeping through the alarm because it still feels/looks like 3am at bleedin 7 in the morning and certainly enjoyed that extra hour of sleep in this morning.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.

they tried that bad joo joo over here. But all the cows got sour milk, and the kids got more sunburnt because of the extra hour the sun is out.!!!!
no doubt it will come back again though.

You didn't mention the extra curtain fading, or the assorted other rubbish from the DST opponents.
Is there any correlation between belief in climate change and acceptance of reduced power consumption with DST?
DST does mean we get blinded by the sun on the M2 for four months instead of two - eastbound at the tunnel, and westbound at Pennant Hills and Windsor Roads.

I wonder how many will turn up for work an hour late in the morning.
It happens here every year.
All it means to me is its footy season again and my Tigers pulled a draw.
Cheers Kev.

Bah Humbug. TAI is real time.
What's wrong with running your mount in UTC? I've been doing that for ages.

Because my mount doesn't ask you for UTC time.
It asks the current time at my location and if it is DST or not
Maybe the newer models have UTC, but mine is an oldie.

Well we should have DLS here in QLD - can of worms!
My observations
- the Sun up up at 5.00 am in Summer
- we have no twilight
- QLDers are the most sleep deprived people in the country
My opinion
- the majority here do not want it for all the wrong reasons
- one being it is a southerner thing!
My proposal
- do not copy the south, have DLS 12 months of the year!

The simplest solution for DLS is that the people who want it is to set their alarms to wake them up one hour earlier.
Coming back to normal time mucked up my recording of Sons & Daughters re-runs. Not happy :mad2:.
Should I have admitted that  :screwy:

I became a little concerned today during a disscussion with someone
who suffers schizophrenia in that he told me.
"The cat just dosn't understand" "
Asking a for a little more info cleared things up, his cat is now coming into his bedroom every morning at 5:00am instead of 6:00 and waking him up.
Its a pretty fair observation , now how do you turn the cat forward an hour ??

No, No and triple No!
You don't want it!!!
It is one of the worst things that Man has done in his fiddling with everything.
One of the biggest problems is that it doesn't get dark enough for proper imaging until after 10pm
and also kids can't do astronomy during DST. It is too late in the night for them by the time it is dark enough!
It's also a real killer during public outreach. Most people are wanting to head home just as it's getting dark enough to start :screwy:
DST sucks :mad2:
