Found this lovely lady hanging on to the wall at work and couldn't resist.

First post from my great new Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro, what am awesome bit of kit. Levels and resized in Gimp.

Flash was the internal 7D flash. Looking at those big eyes I was wondering if flash photography can damage the eyes of insects etc?

They're great macro subjects, hey. I don't believe they damage their eyes. Flash power levels and durations so close to the subject are extremely low and quick. And I've never seen a mantis blinking and rubbing its eyes after shooting her :)
