A little trip today in the kayak, a bit of a recon of a local river in search of some new perspectives for wildlife photography.
Had a couple of scary moments in one of the four sets of rapids, mainly worried about the camera gear. I got a good dry bag, but I still get nervous about it getting wet.
This trip was really mostly about checking out the river. I definitely will be returning here late in the afternoons for sunset where the wild animals start venturing out a bit more. Night time could be a challenge too!
Here's a quick video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3zOos5HgEs&feature=autoplay&list=ULqBvhJHNZlhM&index=24&playnext=1)
Baz.
Thanks for sharing Baz. :)
You need to have your own documentary, I can just see it now.. "Baz vs Wild". Episode 1: Baz fights the rapids, watch as he anxiously tries to keep his equipment dry, fight water snakes and dodge rocks while narrating his show.
Next time though a bit of scenery would have been nice instead of one cloud Baz. :P

I swear I could hear banjos.....
You could spare yourself the worry and use my living room!!!
I left the door open last night and so far I have 2 Bats, a Blue Tongue, a small Possum, a pair of Wagtails and countless insects of varying sizes to evict before lunch....
If you want, I'll have at you with the Karcher for that true "Deliverance" feeling. :D

LOL! Yo are such a Suzy....
I just rested my mobile-phone camera on the dry-bag in front of me. It was the only place I could get it to stay without dropping off into the water.
When I got home, I immediately went to work in the shed and made a small bracket and mount on the front of the kayak, that fits my phone perfectly and will hopefully take a wider, lower view so you can see stuff behind me. It is also reversible so I can face it forward and film what's coming up while I narrate from behind the scenes.

I don't mind getting my boys wet mate...in fact, the doctors say it's best to keep them cool.... :P
But when you take a 5DMK II and all your lenses with you...you tend to play it safe and :prey:
:lol::lol:
Ooooh goody...
So now we might be able to see those crocs trying nip your toes off, the whale coming up behind the boat that you upset when you accidentally gave its baby a headache, and the man on the land waving his fist at you because you hooked him in his stomache with your line. Should be real interesting, can't wait. :D:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
Aren't I feeling a tad cheeky today  :P

Love the vid Baz, I'm going to have to call you Harry Butler from now on.
If you want some action you should been have out my way this morning, I had a couple of Roo's fighting over a couple of girls. They were not pulling the punch's either, lot's of fur flying in all directions.
The buggers also squashed my Grevillia, but I wasn't going to intervene.
