Hi all,

I'm new to Ice In Space, hopefully I'm doing this right. I used to post on mysky.org but gave up after news server problems, haven't posted much anywhere for the last year, thought I'd try Ice In Space after hearing of it, and thinking local might be nice.

To kick off my time here, here's an example of the kind of thing I like imaging, a link to an image of a bunch of galaxies around NGC 3312, took a few days back:

Not particularly great image quality/detail, but I find the faint stuff fascinating, blurred or sharp.

Roger.

Welcome to Ice in space, you will find us all a nice supportive bunch of people into astronomy. Nice pic there. heres my effort taken with a Canon EOS 300d and 10 inch scope last year

Scott, thanks, nice wider field view of the area you have there. I'm a sucker for colour too so it's good to have the little bit of colour in the stars & galaxies. I'll have to check out the galaxy to the left of my FOV, visible in yours. Perhaps extend my FOV by a third image to the left and capture it.

Roger.

Hi Roger!

Great way to make an introduction, a very nice image.

Welcome to the site, I hope you'll be back posting many more of your great images. How did you hear about us?

I like your site too, some great photography and very nicely laid out.

Wow, ok, didn't expect so many replies! Thanks to everyone.

Mike - My real introduction to Ice In Space was from Paul Medcraft .. he was telling me about it one time, then I eventually took a look at the site, and now, a few months later, finally turned up :-)

Thanks to all for the comments on the website etc, I've been looking around everyone elses and it's all great. I'm not sure my greyscale ST7 work is quite up to the level of the great DSLR, SBIG & webcam stuff out there but one can only try.

My website is slowly being re-built after a year of being full and unable to add new images on it's old location, so thanks to those who enjoyed the visit, good to know, and hopefully there'll be more of my stuff on there in the not too distant future as I find time to upload it all.

Thanks again to everyone!

Roger.
