Interesting information on 'X' Galaxies,
http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2011/03/-hundreds-of-invisible-x-galaxies-predicted-orbiting-the-milky-way-.html
Now we just have to wait for all the doomsayers to get a hold of it.

"...a mysterious cloud of hydrogen in the Virgo Cluster 50 million light-years from the Earth found to be colliding with our galaxy..."
The Milky Way is ~100k light years across, yet a gas cloud that is ~50M light years away is colliding with it. Simply amazing. (the quality of reporting that is, not the gas cloud)
My first thought after I read this article.

you'd think if they found loads of invisible hydrogen gas they would be able to find this elusive dark matter.

Maybe it is the elusive dark matter, not so dark after all. We were just looking in the wrong spectrum.
