Hi all,
It's been ages since my Dad and I have done some imaging, stupid work! anyhoo :D here is the latest, the LMC. Taken from the dark skies of wheatbelt WA.
Scope: FSQ-106ED
Camera: SBIG STL-11000M
Mount: Losmandy G11 with G1
Exposure: 4 hours through Astronomik LRGB filters
As always comments and suggestions are very much appreciated :)

Very nice work Ben. The detail is superb.
Is it possible to have a link to a larger full res image please?

Been a while, Ben!
I still remember the first attempt you posted of this a couple of years back. Was that taken with a 200mm lens? You caught the outer halo/tidal stream of the LMC from memory.
Well done -- gives me ideas. : )

Great pic Ben!
Are you happy with the FSQ? I am interested in it, but I heard that the time for cooling down the tube could be very long.
Cheers

Magnificant image Ben. Well done.
You've gotta love those dark country WA skies:thumbsup: Especially as the temperature starts dropping over the next few months for us with DSLRs.
Cheers,
Darrin...

Cheers Lester :)
Thanks Darrin.. I just bought a DSLR (600D) which will have the warranty voided very soon :P Gotta be ready for and Auroras that might come up :D Bring on the cold!
Hi Werner,
We are very happy with the FSQ. Sharp with good colour and a flat field to die for! The only thing that keeps you on your toes is that you have to periodically re focus to counter temperature change through the night. Particularly if you plan to operate at f3.6 with the reducer. ;)
Cheers mate :) funny you mention that :D we have been getting some more image time hopefully we can get a better result with the extra exposure time.
Give me a couple of days mate the internet has been shaped  back to full speed on Friday! :eyepop:

Nice one Benny, I am processing this beauty too these days and it turned out to be a much more difficult object than expected..
Good job!

A very nice image. LMC is hard to process, its so bright and so many stars everywhere and then there are the large Ha areas.
