Dear all, after having lately processed mostly mosaics, here I am with a simple single image, a relaxed shot of the Small Magellanic Cloud:

http://www.glitteringlights.com/Images/deepsky/13667287_YtYhj#1221813257_ihYsf-X3-LB

Filters used are Ha, OIII, L, R, G, B for a total light collection of about 10 hours.

The image is quite normal, with the exception maybe of the strong OIII emission recorded on NGC602, in this image quite marked.

Hope you will like this one!

A fascinating beautifully executed image. I can't remember anyone having done this before.

Marco !!!! Wonderful in all... the best for me is to see a galaxy with cluster in the same frame..... great color and H-Alpha layer...

Congratulations,

Beautiful FOV

SMC with 47tuc and little brother all comfortably within the frame.

Nice work.

Wow what a field of view :eyepop:

I like what looks to be an arc of OIII emission on the right, never seen that before..?

You have revealed the tear drop shape of the SMC nicely but (and I may be wrong) is the edge of the galaxy where it transitions into the surrounding star field perhaps just a little sudden?

Is this all 300mm F4 data?

Really an excellent shot

Thanks Steve, H, Rob, Greg, Jjjnette, John, Dave, Leonardo, Allan and Ken for your appreciation !

Thanks Mike, I am not sure what do you mean, I only used curves and not any masking at all, so don't image where you can see this sharp transaction coming from

Yep, all data taken with my small Pentax EDIF lens, a good baby under dark skies

I looked at my version of this object and that transition is similar. I think the SMC is fairly compact on that side and that isn't a lasso trace from Photoshop.
