What do you image when its a 3/4 super moon?

Eta Carina of course!

A bright object like Eta images quite well through the moon's light.

Greg,

Wonderfully clear image. The dark areas are very pronounced.

Nice Greg. Something just doesn't look right. Maybe the blue stars.

Thanks Dougie. Yes the stars were affected by the Ha blend as luminance. I did a fix up of that and got a far better result. The stars seem fine now. I like this version of it now. The central bulbous nebula and gas stream stand out nicely to me.

Its interesting when you do a multilayered image how easily the stars can get damaged by a step in the process and because they are small it can get missed.

I might take some real short exposures and add in the keyhole section around Eta Carina itself. I can see there is some sort of outer neb caught there but the glare of the star blots out any real detail.

Thanks Frank. The repro seems to have gotten an even better result.

Lovely colours and tack sharp, Greg. That CDK is surely a lovely scope.
