Elizabeth Taylor has just died at age 79.

She is one of only a few 'Old Hollywood Greats' left. And now she has gone too.

Boy, she has had a remarkable career.
The stunningly beautiful 12 y.o. girl in 'National Velvet', then onto being the foxy sex siren in soooo many movies.

Married Richard Burton twice.
She was a sickly person throughout most of her life, and in her last few years she has suffered a Brain Tumour, Skin Cancers, and Heart Problems.

Reported to be a terrific caring Mother, and Grandmother to 9 grandchildren, also devoting much of her time and money to Aids research.

R.I.P Liz

Indeed. Brilliant in "Virginia Woolfe"
I'll always remember the running feud she had with Joan Rivers on Johnny Carson. Very funny.

It was her role as Velvet Browne, in "National Velvet " that will keep her in my heart forever.
Rest in Peace dear Liz.

This is so so sad. One of the last true golden hollywood greats. She battled so many things later in life, she looked almost indestructible. Despite her being weak, I thought she'd be with us for years to come.
Not a good day. :(

I remember her first movie, "Lassie". She went along with her mother I think to a friends audition and wound up being cast in Lassie. I also remember her in Dynasty in the 80's!

"Just before turning 60 in 1992, she summed herself up for Life magazine, saying: "I've been lucky all my life. Everything was handed to me: looks, fame, wealth, honours, love. But I've paid for that luck with disasters. Terrible illnesses, destructive addictions, broken marriages."

Life isn't easy, even if you are rich and famous.

RIP Liz

The classic for me was her role as Cleopatra in "Anthony & Cleopatra"
