Another celestial event. OF COURSE IT's RAINING!

Yet again, every bl...y time something special happens in the sky, it's overcast.

We've had heaps of clear nights. Now this biggest full moon in 18 years is on, it is completely horizon to horizon clouds and drizzle.

Just a Normal looking Full Moon.

Even if my missus and Mother-in-law are arguing with me that it looks bigger :rolleyes:

Funny thing is that they never look at it any other night, so how would they know? :lol:

I held my little finger up and arm's length and, guess what? The tip of my little finger covered the Moon, as usual. :rolleyes:

Though it was a very pretty sight, a delicate cream/rose colour tonight when I caught sight of it, up about 10 deg.

I can see the moon shining through a layer of cloud :(

I thought I saw another Perigee moon within a similar distance for sometime in September? (can't remember what site it was from). Maybe we'll have better luck then ;)

Well this full moon is just like any other.... except it's 0.0001% larger and 0.0001% brighter making deepsky observation that 0.0001% more difficult..I'm sure the media are all crowing to less informed folk on how this is the biggest moon in decades.....what they fail to say is the few arcseconds difference from a typical full moon and as such the inability of the eye to detect one iota of difference :lol:

But it DOES look bigger Sab!
Just ask my missus and Mum-in-law.
They said so, and they saw the Moon a few years ago and they say this one is bigger.

my mum's getting uber excited aswell .... "biggest moon ever, so big and bright"..... yes just like any other full moon...the reason why this one is so big and bright is because it's the first clear full moon night we've had in months :help:
