Had a bit of fun today by actually having enough time to image the upper (H-Alpha) and lower ( CaK) layers of the solar chromosphere .

A rollover image of these layers can be seen here (http://www.atscope.com.au/BRO/gallery85.html)

Well done. The sun spot in CaK looks like a hole. Great detail.
My young son just asked if the image was taken at night:lol:

Nice Peter what set up do you use for the CaK images?

Thanks Guys. I use a Lunt Solar B1200 CaK module, with my AP130 stopped down to 100mm.

Excellent work Peter, certainly provides a very different and most interesting perspective.

Very well done.

Nice going Peter. The seeing not as good as last week? That scale was impressive. The detail is nice today for sure but not as lovely last week.

Thanks. Seeing was OK, but I used a shorter FL to cut down on the amount of stitching required (the Cak image still has a bit of glitch).

As an aside, Cak is underwhelming visually...very deep violet and very hard to see any detail at all. ....but comes up a treat with a CCD :)
