I have my trusty Meade LXD-75 OTA for sale.

Its a fast f4 Schmidt-Newtonian 8 inch. Its a great scope for astrophotography. I used it for several years with a Canon 350D.

I bought the scope from Bintel about 4 years ago - I've moved on to an RC8 as my CCD proved too heavy for the focusser. It managed with the Canon without any problems - I stupidly bought a very heavy 8 slot filter wheel which was too much for this scope.

The focuser has been upgraded to a JMI EV-3n motorised focuser. Supplied with all cables.

There is no finder for this scope - I ditched it for a Telrad when I picked it up.

I paid about $1350 for this scope and focuser.

Will sell for $600

Pick up only - unlike so many IISers, I don't keep the boxes (I'm not allowed to :D)

As I mentioned, its a great introductory scope for imaging.

To be clear - this includes the FCUSB cable and box so you can run the focusser

Now down to $600. The focuser kit cost about $500. You can pick up an excellent introductory OTA for astrophotography for next to nothing

Hi Pete.
I have the same scope. One of my mates (inmykombi) is always talking about getting one and is currently looking for an 8". He is at the SPSP this weekend at Ilford but will no doubt be online on Sunday if you send him a PM.

He has had an add in the "trade/swap/wanted" section trying to swap a rather expensive Meile Oven for a scope. (He is a central coast Meile authorised service electrician).

Try him, it's worth a go (maybe i could get that beautiful focuser to replace the crappy one mine came with, the rack and pinion thing :rofl::rofl:)
