Though my new 600D is not modded, for star clusters it should not be an impediment. I tested it on Omega centauri last night.

Attached are a full frame view and a rull resolution crop of the core.

Unfortunately the seeing wasnt 100%, but focussing with live view is much nicer than the old modded 350D, which is still the better camera for nebulae.

Nice shot Scott very sharp ,your right seeing wasn't 100% last night but at least it was clear

How's the noise in it Scott? The 550D was abysmal.

This core looks amazing with all those little blue stars. Excellent shot. :thumbsup:

when did it clear? there was high cloud at all times guys? Nice shot with your cloud penetrating camera

This turned out very well indeed considering your described conditions.
The colour looks spot on.... this camera might be a goer for astro imaging??
