Dear friends,

My name is Jason and I'm in my final year of journalism studies at UTS in Sydney.

This semester I'm making a series of 5-10 minute television stories, on all kinds of different topics, and just recently I thought that surely in the world of amateur astronomy there are hundreds of fascinating things happening that the wider world doesn't know about.

So, if you know somebody with a story to tell, and who isn't too afraid of a camera, please let me know.

The only conditions are that I can't be too far from Sydney (anywhere within driving distance is fine), and the story has to be visual (i.e. if somebody made a discovery, but it's impossible to show pictures of it, then I'll probably save it for another time when I'm doing radio!)

Thank you for your time and if you wanted to contact me directly you can email me on Jason.Rushton@gmail.com.

Happy star-gazing,
Jason.

Hi Jason
Sorry for my tardy reply to your email - but I think posting here is a good idea too because you'll get a wider range of opinions.

The first that comes to mind is Anthony Wesley, who discovered TWO impact strikes on Jupiter in the last 2 years. Anthony lives in Canberra.

There's also a number of supernova discoverers who are IceInSpace members, including Peter Marples (lives in QLD).

I hope you get someone you need!
