Is anyone watch the Space Shuttle landing?

About 1 hour to de-orbit burn.

I got a shock when I first logged on to IIS find so few other logged on.

Maybe a lot of members forgot about the landing.

Have to say It's so nice to finaly have an internet connection that can handle the HD feed!

BTW.. where's the best place to watch?

Oh wow.. just watching their graphic of the path, shuttle will be passing straight over my head soon.. shame I won't see anything :(

Anyone know what Windows program they are using that is on the right hand panel screen in the control room?
Shows live orbit data and attutide of the shuttle etc.

HD stream has more than doubled to 90,000 viewers.. their server is starting to struggle.

Yes excellent. Hard to believe that was the last time we'll see the shuttles.
Still annoyed I missed the launch.

Interesting observation.. when the watch count got over 80,000 there was a bit of stutter to the feed, but on going to full screen it was smooth as right up to 120,000 viewers.
Then as soon as the toolbar(?) appears in fullscreen mode(after moving mouse).. the stutter reappears. Strange.

Edit: Watch count just dropped under 80,000 again.. all stutter gone.

Oh? Though I heard somewhere that was it.

LOL, just listening to the guys switching things off. Control asked to switch something on then off again. Turns out the switch is faulty. Control says "Dicky switch... Ok.. well just remember not to use that one on the next flight"
haha

Impressive IR footage.. watching the tyres go from jet-black to white hot in a fraction of a second.

For Discovery, that was the last flight but there are 2 more shuttle flights later this year.
