Just an update. There is a slight change to the program of the AAIC. Because we are now going to use the main venue on the Friday for workshops there is no need for parallel sessions. The four workshops will be run one after another in the main venue.

Ken and Rogelio have therefore kindly agreed to deliver another different presentation on the weekend - so you will hear from them twice over the course of the conference. This is very good news if you cant get there on Friday due to work commitments

I also have more exciting news coming regarding more major sponsors and more door prize sponsors so I can give more stuff to a bunch of lucky attendees. More on that soon

I will start leaking some info as I get it but it has always been my intention to pound the heck out of our sponsors to be able to give away suitable quality door prizes at the end of the conference. The only condition is that you are a paying attendee and you have to be there for the draw.

So far I am happy to announce that the Star Tools guys are donating 4 or 5 software licences for thier prodict to give away and courtesy of Sirius Optics there will also be an Orion short tube refractor and Orion guidescope as a door prize. I hope to make an announcement in the next couple of days of a $2500 OTA and several other exciting astro-imaging products. I also have support from a Gold Coast Titans footballer who has also donated a prize that will go straight to the poolroom.

As I have said - the conference is not about making money - it is about dissemination of knowledge and with a bit of luck in the drawing you can be going home with something worth much more than what it will cost you to attend.

Thx Mike

Times are tough and to get people involved I am accepting sposorship in goods. If we can cover costs adequately to everyones satisfaction then why not share around what we can get.

ANy industry people out there not involved - if you want to donate goods to value of around 300 dollars we can give you advertisiing and exposure and we will then give away what you donate. Contact me via the website (www.AAIC2011.com (http://www.AAIC2011.com)) if you want to support amateur astrophotography (including scientifi imaging) in Australia. I will plug and push all sponsors thoroughly during the conference (and bag the hell out of those that dont - joking - wink).

Star Tools came on board via this forum (Thx Marc for the reccomendation) so all others are welcome. Anyone got a contact for Canon or Adobe? I cant get through to them via generic emails and they are both making money out of us.
