Earlier this year I finally got a 12" Dobsonian.
Between early Jan and today, I think the skies have been clear about 3-4 times! I've been waiting in frustration...
...and finally we have some clear nights. Saturn looked wonderful last night. Even my wife was impressed when I hauled her out at 10pm for a squint at the planet. "Why didn't you show me this before?" she asked. I shook my head. Sydney skies this summer have been terrible.
I look forward to some more clear skies.
Good to hear that you finally got a couple of nights viewing.
It's been pretty much the same here, but over the weekend it cleared just in time for our star party.:D
Hopefully we'll all get a few more clear nights over autumn.:prey:

Ha clear nights. Last night I setup my 12" at about 8 PM. Came out at about 9:30 to start observing. Packed up 5 minutes later. T_T

Weekdays useless. Waiting for the weekend although I'm glad some one got their scope out.

Welcome to the wonderful world of amateur astronomer....I haven't had a clear sky for 7 months. Too humid and too cloudy.
