Hello all,
I was lucky to get some imaging in this morning between the clouds - I am glad I did as 4 AR and two goodish proms were on display.
The conditions were not good - the images on the screen were bubbling away and processing was difficult to say the least - I think I did the best I could.
Typical set up - Lunt 60 / Ha / DMK31 / Registax5 / PSP for blending prom and disc images.
Image 1 - Summary of all
Image 2 - AR 1164
Image 3 - AR 1166
Image 4 - AR 1165

Thanks for looking

Looks good enough to eat, Matt! You've really mastered that Lunt: the resolution is fantastic for a 60mm objective and there's almost a 3D quality to the images!

Lovely images as usual, Matt. I obviously missed one of the proms.

Thanks folks - Al, the second prom was quite faint and I picked it up visually - I usually do a drift around the limb with the Gain quite high - I did not pick it up in this manner!
Looking forward to the coming month wit the Sun!

Top Stuff Matt, you have certainly got the best out of this data. The active regions are so detailed and really like the proms.
Well done

Very nice Matt
Wow Matt, very good images :D.
Just out of curiosity how do you focus accurately on the sun Matt?

Thanks all for your nice words.
Hi Troy, I focus by looking at the image on the screen and playing with the feather touch focus knob - no skill required. The beauty of a small 60mm scope is that there is only so much detail you can get - so if conditions are poor or you are a little off with focus it does not seem to matter too much - you can always get something that resembles activity.
The hardest bit is being able to see the computer screen in a glarey environment!
Thanks for looking!

Nice prom work Matt. The SM60 with the double stack makes for hard imaging of proms. Always seem to miss that. I will have to check the band pass next session and change it to suit the proms.
I like your image of AR11164. Very nicely detailed.
