brand new wings

This little guy was on my shed door this morning drying
out his/ her brand new wings in the morning sun.
They hover over our pool in summer but are very hard to catch on
camera as they never seem to land anywhere!

I got one shot of it on the shed door then the Pentax went flat!
Then I used my daughters compact Samsung for the rest.
After a few minutes on my hand fluttering his wings he flew away.
A lost opportunity...would have loved to get better shots of his
wings.

I chase them with my camera, but they can be tricky to photograph, but this little fella was loving it ... perhaps he thinks he is at the bug Oscars. :D
The colours are beautiful, and the detail on the wings is magnificent.
Hope someone can tell us exactly what type of ... dragonfly, he is.
