Had a go at adding S11 and O111 to my already captured Ha data for Eta Carina nebula. It was approx 60-70in each for the three filters captured with QSI583wsg in 10 minute subs. Stacked with DSS and processed in photoshop.
Comments welcomed.

nice detail round the keyhole Allan. Which filter is mapped to the yellow?

That's great, Allan! Got one of these cameras coming my way next week. Looking forward to the "step up".
The nebulosity looks great and sharp! Funky colours.
Yes, great data to add to the already very impressive Ha. I'd be interested in the colour assignments too.

R:G:B mapped to s2:Ha:O111 so the keyhole came out yellow in the Hubble pallette ie Ha and O3.
Yeah, not to my taste I'm afraid. I've done another reproduction and assigned the colours differently and I think this is more subtle and to my taste.
Funky is right - se the repro below for a "better" version
This colour is assigned Ha:R S2:G and O111 to Blue
Thanks for that - its all an experiment to see what I can do. Must admit the Astronomic filters are great as they are ALL parfocal including the clear and Luminance filters so the whether using RGB or Ha:S2:O3 they are all in focus which id great for the narrowband.
Thanks David. I was going to chime in re the rotation but you are doing it different to me so I let others more knowledgeable help you out. I would have just confused the issue.

well it is "guiding" on a spider tonight - seeing is well like looking at a star through wobbly jelly, but the scope and dome are tracking:thumbsup:
but not with automadome - only ascom

Nice data and funky colours. The keyhole scrubs up nicely in this rendition.
If your interested, Bob Franke has a very helpful page for colour mapping to get those gold and turquoise hues for the HST pallet. Here (http://bf-astro.com/hubbleP.htm)

yep spent the 250 for the "software" from bisque - wasted:sadeyes:
i am yet to use my qhy10 with the C11. I have held off doing that until i conquered the dome:rofl: wonder when i will use it.....
but i certainly like where you are going with this imaging

Thanks Mike - appreciate the comments and Im finally getting the resolution with the 10" and 583 camera (a good combo for me)
Marc, Merci beaucoup... and just for you two here is another rendition.
Beginning to like narrow band as anything goes (within reason).

Ooh I like that one: nice and contrasty, brooding even and shows off the detail in the nebulosity.
Me too - makes the "Finger" stick out......like a sore thumb

I like it Allan, lots of detail. The blue fringing on stars is a bit distracting though, easy to fix. Its a common NB problem.

Allan that is a lovely image. I really like the contrast between the browns and the yellow. Not to over done, quite subtle.
What was the colour mapping on the final image?

Thanks Keith and Rob, glad you liked it.
Ah, easy for you Fred but me not know how!!
Mark, you'll have to tell me how you reduced the blue fringing as its a better repro
Geoff, think the mapping was rgb=sho, but Ill check

That is a great image. Good to see some narrowband. It adds another view to the object.

Glad you both got something from the photo but again the rain has set in in Brisbane. Guess it will be awhile before I can do something else.
