Was up early this morning, and noticed the Hong Kong flights passing reasonably close to the moon.So when I had my breakfast on the verandah I thought I'd have my 400 L and 450D at the ready.I could here a plane-but hard to see with all that cloud.when I could see the plane I only had a very short time to turn camera on and point. Was able to get two frames.the first a bit blurry, but the second I aim at the plane, looks like a bird or moth wanted to be in the picture too,but it appears its the sharper of the two.I will paint it out later. The plane appears to be a 'Virgin Blue' Embraer ERJ-190,a domestic flight about to land at Brisbane from Cairns or Townsville.

Specs 1250th of second, iso 400,AV 5.6.hand held,I hope this may be of interest, thanks for looking.

Additional proof that you indeed are properly setup to have taken the original Moon Shot...

Excellent grab.

Actually, I think the plane was not close to the moon at all... and strongly suspect it was still in the Earth's atmosphere :)

Nice piccy just the same!

BTW don't know about the Embraer's but a little known fact is:

If you could produce the same thrust *at altitude* in an A380, as you can at sea level, there is more than enough power to make orbit.
