Did some solar imaging today but the seeing was not that great. I did manage to get a reasonable image of the active regions approaching the limb and a couple of prominences.

Trent, I am using a solarmax 60 with 3x barlow and DMK41.

Thanks Matt. It looks like that active region coming around the limb will be pretty big. I have been watching it on the STEREO site. The SDO site shows this big magnetic loops on the approaching limb. Could be just right for the weekend.:D

Trev, funnily enough when I packed up the DMK41 today I happened to gaze on the flea and wondered the very same thing. Next week at snake valley I will give it a shot and see how it pans out.

Derek I currently capture around 850 odd frames over 58 seconds. Out of that I stack some where around 430 or so frames. All my Solar and lunar stuff is processed in AVIstack. :)

how do you get colour for sun images? RGB filters?

No you have to false colour the Ha data images in a program like Photoshop. Ha solar is a monochrome light and therefore cannot be RGB imaged.
