I've made a comparison here of two images. One of the recent lunar perigee, and one of the apogee last December. Both were taken with a Canon 550D at prime focus of a Sky-Watcher 12" Dobsonian so the image scale is the same.
I've used some reference figures for sizes and distances.
The size difference is quite a bit and if I was to try for reference images of the moon or features it's definitely worth waiting until it is at its biggest. BTW next March's full moon occurs on perigee.
Cheers,
Tom
