Hi all

Thanks for your kind words regarding my recent posts - I do them for me but it is nice in the sharing!

Today I embarked on a project to capture a solar flare (I have not done this). I stated at 8am and took images every 20 minutes of the Active Region 1160, 1161 and 1162 hoping to see the brightening of a flare....alas I did not. I still compiled the images from the 2.5 hour project.
I found it surprising that there was very little evidence of any change!
I guess I will need to spend more time at the scope and have some luck!

Unlucky about the flaring Matt, but some lovely images nonetheless. Keep them coming!

Nice data there Matt, if this had been near the limb it looks like you would have had a very nice prom, best of luck with catching a flare.

Very good pics, the way the sun has been behaving lately you shouldnt have to wait too long for that flare! look forward to that shot :D
