Loved it!
It's much like that choir that did the sound of music song in a German train station.
Thanks for posting Trevor. :)
That should be our national anthem, not that un-inspiring piece of rubbish we have now.

Very good nice to see some young Aussie talent.just some history the song was written by Bruce Woodley of the Seekers for those who still can remember them .they added two more versus to the original for fire victims.
There are no words of comfort
That can hope to ease the pain
Of losing homes and loved ones
The memories will remain
We weep our silent tears and find
The strength to carry on
Youre not alone
We are with you we are australian
There are so many heros
Whoes stories must be told
They fought the raging fires from hell
And saved so many souls
From the ashes of despair
Our towns will rise again
We mourn your loss
We will rebuild
WE ARE AUSTRALIANS
Thanks Cobbers

Whoah!
Brought tears to my eyes.
Fantastic.
Yes it would be a better National Anthem than the durge we have now.
I don't even sing the Anthem we have now. I don't like it.

That was wicked!
Nation Anthem it should be!
It made me sit up in my chair and feel proud. Had a frog in my throat!
I've had the two girls in wheelchairs come to my work for various fund raiser functions. They are great girls.
BTW, is that Ricky Lee?
Thanks for posting
Bartman
I was wondering if it was Ricky Lee as well.

Hi Suzy, should I know Ricky Lee:question:;)
That Food Hall could be the one in Kawana Shopping Center , but then I suppose they are all just about the same all over Australia:):)
Ricky Lee is a past Australian Idol (tho didn't win) went on to become somewhat successful as a singer (sorry, I only know one song of hers:shrug:) and then went on to become co-host of Australian Idol (tho don't know if she still is as I stopped watching it because everyone I thought should win didn't :mad2: ).
Amazing thanks for posting that...

When we arrived in Australia by boat in 1953, yes we were boat people, and it cost my parents three and a half thousand pounds to get from Indonesia to Australia. The wharfies organised a truck driver to take us and our meagre belongings to find a place to stay. This bloke drove us all over the place until we found somewhere to stay. He would not accept any payment. My parents looked at each other and said we have come to the best country when the ordinary person helps his fellow man for no payment. My parents arrived in Australia with three kids and one on the way and ten quid.
We have done very well since then.
Do not let this attitude change!
This song is a celebration of that attitude.

Doh...too late I'm affraid Bert, think it has a bit, xenaphobia has deffinitely increased in recent times  . A guy at work said to me the other day that we should round up all the mourners flown to Sydney the other day and shoot the lot of'em..yep they were his words.
Great song but there are sadly many uncaring, intolerant sods in Australia.
