Hello all,
Looks like the decent clear weather has buggered off from SA for the next week or so. And, it left last night allowing me one single 15min sub of Eta in Ha.
I thought I might as well post it as it'll be the last for a wee bit!

Canon Astro 40D (Temp -12ºC)
Canon 400mm f5.6L + Astronomik Ha 12nm EOS clip filter
f5.6, iso1600, 1x15mins and an almost full moon.

Darks/Flats calibrated
30,60,120 subs used for masking the core

Also, this will hopefully be the last Ha image with those annoying halos around the bright stars.
Astronomik run a return program for replacing 'Halo' filters for their newer 'No-Halo' equivalents. So, the Ha and OIII filters will soon be on their way to Germany for replacement.

Pretty scary Doug, and noise pretty good for only one sub. That Cooled 40D's pretty sensitive.

Cheers Craig - I'm a desperate man posting a single sub! But I'm happy with the performance of the Astro 40D noise wise.
The "Halo-rich" Astronomik filters are now on their way back to Hamburg, Germany for replacement.
Auf Wiedersehen!
