Saturn this morning Feb 13th, RGB & IR animations

Hi All,

Imaged Saturn this morning in reasonable seeing over a 2 hr session.
There was some high alt cloud occasionally passing through. I couldn't see any cloud but the effects were apparent on my histogram.

Have 5 RGB & 5 807nm IR data sets, this morning a substantial part of the tail as well as the comet like head of the storm was visible. The head of the storm remains very bright with no hint of it diminishing.

There appears to be some structure within the rings in both animations, but the seeing was just not good enough to really nail it, but I live in hope.

Thats an interesting set, I know what you mean by histogram showing mist passing. IR darkens aspects of the storm giving an entirely different view, Saturn has never been so interesting.

Saturn is putting on a nice show. Almost looks like something in the rings, so very very close.

Thanks John, Saturn certainly is putting on quite some display and yes the histogram is very sensitive to anything that is passing though that we don't necessarily see with our eyes.

The storm animation really has the appearance of a comet passing accross the front of the planet.

It has been quite a spectacle to watch in it's formation and growth.
