Couple of questions....

Just wanted to play around with my Sony Bravia 40" and view some photos on it from my PC. I have a picture of the Milky Way I took some time ago as the background on my desktop.
When the picture emereged on the Sony, I was amazed at how clear, sharp and contrasted (?) it is compared to to the pc screen.
Getting up close it was a different matter, but from about under 3 meters it looks soooo much better that my main viewing screen. ( Sony 1920x1080 , Chimei ( dont laugh) 1680x1050 ,22").

Is my lcd main screen that bad??

I have played around with the settings and played with free monitor calibration programmes, but nothing comes close to what I see on the Sony.
Sureley the res diff is not the cause?

I probably should process my pics on the Sony!:bashcomp:

Could somebody please enlighten me?....

Yes, but what was the cost ratio?

Chimei aren't up to the quality of the 24" Samsung 1920x1200 on my desk at work, but as value for money goes, they aren't bad. I have two of the CMV 221D model, and they've worked perfectly for 5 years.

How much is it scaling the image to fit and how much the screen quality? The Sony is 16:9. The Chimei is 16:10. What ratio is the original image?

Thanks Andrew,
You're right, I didn't think of the cost ratio. I'm happy too with my Chimei.
I might start looking at some higher res monitors......
