Hi everone: This is David again. And on the good side is I've got a neat little Christmas present. A Canon Rebel EOS 550D T2i and it has 18 megapixels.

However of course as I guess nearly all DSLR's go it has a CMOS sensor instead of CCD.

But I've got 2 nearly identical pictures of the Plaeides and am having questions about staking them.

Like I've got Registax downloaded. And I'm new to this program totally and I've wondering if there are online tutorials like on YouTube or something giving advice here?

Also could people here explain what the main intent of Registax is?

David

Hi David.

Deep Sky Stacker (DSS (http://deepskystacker.free.fr/english/index.html)) would be a better proposition to stack Astro DSLR pics. Just ..well because it has a multitude of users settings from beginner to advanced users and is very easy to use and freeware.

There are some pretty good tutorials (and explanations of settings) on the DSS site and they have a pretty good yahoo tech site forum (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/DeepSkyStacker/)as well.

Most people stack pics with DSS then use something like Photoshop or Canon Digital Photo Processing (DPP...comes with the Canon camera software) to then import and process the stacked images.

Tell us if you do not have photo processing software. There are many free and some not so free.
