I'm looking to upgrade the finder on my Sky Watcher 100ED Black Diamond F9.
Looking for an illuminated right angle finder and considering the AT 10x50

I've upgraded the focuser to a Moonlite. It would be nice to use the finder mount on the focuser but I'm not sure this would work. Would it be a mistake to drill mounting holes directly into the SW tube?
Any other suggestions?

I suppose I could go look myself, but does Moonlite offer a finder stalk at all, one that attaches to their focuser?
Drilling holes is OK, but if there is an easier, less "obvious" way, then that is what I would do. There was no finder on the ED100?

Have a look at http://www.stellarvue.com/finderscopes.html as they may have a finder and base that suits.

Thanks!! This looks to be exactly what I was looking for!
To answer the previous question from Gary, yes, it came with a finder and stalk. The stalk isn't much use with a different brand finder, and I want a right angle, with illumination...
Thanks for your answers!!

You will find freight from Stellarvue expensive to say the least (at least last time I checked). However you can buy from Optcorp. I'm not sure if there is an Australian dealer. SDM used to be but no longer I think.

I just got a new 50FW2 finder - the AT seems to be almost the same item, but......
The 50mm SV finder is a small apo in its own right and can be used for spotting as well.
Go through Opticsplanet or OPT for SV gear. Postage is pretty reasonable if you bundle a few things.
When I enquired about shipping some items, direct from SV to Australia, the girl/woman at the other end said:
"We don't normally ship to Africa"
"No. OZTRaayLEEah'
"But that's part of Africa Isn't it?"
"No. Its on the other side of the world in the southern hemisphere"
"Isn't Africa in the southern hemisphere" etc. etc. etc.
Also they won't take a credit card for a first time purchase.?!
Great scopes though.

Sadly the above ignorance isn't laughable at all, they dictate/export their 'democracy' and ethics etc. to a world of which they have no knowledge or comprehension!
Cheers
