Very nicely done Stuart!

Is it a visual object? I'll have to look for it at IISAC.

No it's about mag 12-13 at the moment (I could work it out as I have some other stars in the background, but don't know how to use the software!)

Cheers

yes it is visual atm (small scopes, binos), its in the order of around 8th mag, but diffuse-ish still, centre is slowly evolving tho. Thanks again Stuart, nice one. :-))

Remider, put brain in gear before answering posts...

As mentioned previously, it IS visual, as long as you have a scope, dunno about bino's, maybe from a dark site...

Definitely not a naked eye comet (which is what my befuddled brain was thinking this morning).

I can just make it out in the widefield shots of the area from the D100 piggybacked on the scope, but you have to know where to look, I can see it easily in the 8"LX200, but not the finderscope. Weather permitting I'll be trying for some prime focus shots with the digicam tonight.

You'll also need a clear SW horizon as it's low in the sky ATM.

Cheers and Happy hunting.

Stuart
