Weather is clear, a little wind, no jetstream. What will happen tonight I wonder. Will I get that great image of one of the Jovians?

Work? Nearly finished. Satisfying but hard yakka! Mixed & Concreted 20 odd poles in today. Beats sitting home doing bugger-all though.

I'm not that far west of Adelaide as the crow flies, but it's blowing a gale here anyway. Makes me feel a bit better about hitting the hay early.
Good luck everybody & I bid you all good night!

Night John,
Dave, might wait the wind out or get up early for Jupiter again. The waiting game is on.

Nothiing but garbage my way. Got 1 AVI of Jupiter in less than average seeing. We had winds here and that blurred the image a lot. Maybe tomorrow morning.

Yeah Paul, I hung around until 1am, seeing utter garbage and windy to boot, not to mention influx of bushfire smoke. SNAFU

Yes the bushfires in Victoria are now impacting on our skies. However it is the seeing that is of most concern. It seems that we get a good bit of seeing during Autumn when the winds swing around and then for the rest of the year we have garbage. Now I know most of you think that I am whinging, but if you lived here you would be most annoyed as I am. In the last month the seeing has been so bad that collimation with a 25mm is hard. It takes the fun out of the hobby, especially when I have spent a ship load of cash last year just so that I could concentrate on planetary imaging. I hope the conditions change soon.
Not happy.
