Sorry to those trying to sell second hand Televue EP gear, but I have just received a marketing email from Bintel advising of a 20% off all Televue EPs, Powermates and Barlows.

A 21 Ethos for only $751.

I am tempted.....:D

The sale runs until 17 April 2011. I wonder if the Easter Bunny delivers eyepieces...

Thanks for the heads up...for those wondering about these bargains..."this is a sale of a life time"!

TV are one of the best available they will last a lifetime. These prices are the cheapest I have ever seen.

OPTs running it too. I worked out you could save $1.38 on a 26mm Nag.
Pity it doesn't apply to the NP127s.

Dare I say the Bintel prices on these are quite good and should generate sales!

Use which...the eyepiece or both?

But seriously, the 21 mm Ethos is a wonderful eyepiece...it is "huge" but it works a treat!

As I mentioned in a diferent thread related to this topic in the Begginers Section, I think you'll find the difference in price is basically the GST which is not charged in the USA...

I had heard that GST is charged on the shipping component of imports too (since it is a "service") so again this makes their pricing pretty sharp...and besides Team BINTEL are good folks to boot!

Bugger, there was a thread on CN in December warning on TV price increases in Jan 2011. Bintel had the Ethos 10mm for $699 (on special), so I thought - get it now before it goes up. That was my Chrissy present. Today on Bintel site same piece $559. It's a fantastic eyepiece, so no regrets, just would have liked the current price.

I think the only reason for this TV sale is pressure from Explore Scientific; ES sells eyepieces remarkably similar in design to TV, purely coincidental of course, which perform almost as well for a lot less money. The 20% off succeeded in steering my purchase away from ES, just when I was about to pull ther trigger, and I suspect there are many others in the same boat.

I don't think we'll ever see TV prices better than they are now due to the combination of the sale and good exchange rate.
