Hello.

Recently,I started buying a few odds and endz from the internet-ebay,various other suppliers of things I simply cannot get in this country-all these items come from either Asia or U.K.

I have not done many transactions with U.S,I did order some leather tools over a month ago from a U.S supplier.I have not had a derailment as such, but shunted of to a siding perhaps.

The order, went through-the supplier was in contact,-some items out of stock, will be delayed-no drama, then time for them to debit card-well what a headache-the address I gave did not match the one on the card, there was a small difference-no drama sent correct details-all good really-these Amercians certainly dot their i's and slash their t's.

Anyhow there was more hicups-no one at fault,Eventually we both decided to cancel the order-no one had any problems with this-they emailed me to tell mr the order was cancelled over two weeks,I thought nothing of it.

Now,the order has been re processed, and shipped,I was not happy-as I went to use the money for another item,I sent them an email, have not heard much back.oh well get those tools after all-so I checked the shipping tracking-apparently the parcel is on its way back to the supplier-'The commercial invoice is missing and is required for export/returned to shipper'

(Are you thinking the universe does not want me to have this order:shrug:)

Anyhow,I sent the supplier a polite message, saying no one was at fault with all the hicups to start with, but it appeared someone in their office had made a mistake,as I was emailed confirming order was cancelled, yet re processed two weeks later. What solution could be reached?

Either way I am sure I will get the funds refunded or the order. But what a process, really not sure about buying stuff from U.S after this, what is likely to happen here?I know plenty of IIS members buy stuff from U.S and interested to hear there thoughts on this.

Thanks-Chris

I have never had any issues buying from overseas, perhaps I am just lucky and my time for strife is yet to come.

The only time I had an issue with a product was when I bought a star trek dvd box collection from an "australian" ebay seller and when the item was shipped it came direct from china and was pirated material. Needless to say my feedback on this "power seller" with several thousand transactions was blunt and stated that it was pirated material and the seller was gone the next day.

Hello.

Like I said in the post Kal,no big issue here Kal,just lots of little mix ups
added up to a bit of a headache. The supplier has just sent me a email, and
apologized for the mix up in the paper work, they have the parcel coming back to them, and take the hold of the amount on my card, and offered a discount on my next order. It will take a few days for the hold to go off the card. But all ends well.

There was never any hint off impropriety here, just lots of mix-ups,no one at fault.I have always had a very high opinion of the company, and they have a good reputation world wide.

But,having stuff shipped from U.S does appear slower, and costs a vast amount-one package I got once was 2.4 pounds (a kilo) cost $56 to send, and took ages.

Buy a 'L' from HK and its two days to remote country QLD,no complaints of paying $50 for the cartage and insurance there.A parcel quote from Ontario Canada-$63 for two kilos!Seems a bit high!

Cheers Chris
