Saturn in better seeing this morning, animation to follow.

Some pretty interesting data there Freddy, especially within the rings on the Eastern side. As you say the seeing must have been quite reasonable judging by how well defined the Cassini division is.

The EZs in most of these, on my screen looks saturated.
I loaded your image 2 into Astra Image to look at the histo and it is saturated. Might pay to reduce the histo % at capture a bit more. That said, there is some very nice structure within the rings, particularly on the Eastern side, that is rotating with the rings.

Do you realize that image 6 & 7 are different versions of the same image? I prefer 7 as the brightest part of 6 is close to being saturated. The contrast in 7 really does show the structure in the rings to greater effect.

Really look forward to your animation Freddy, reckon the movement of the material within the rings will look just great.

While capturing the histogram is just halfway, and Saturn is dim on the screen. I asjust the histogram in Astra Image, maybe I should go easy on this ? Saturn looks good on the regular computer, but indeed a bit burned-out on the others.

I have no experience with one shot colour, regarding how full you should have the histo at capture Freddy, reckon Asi would probably be the most experienced here. Have attached a screen shot of the histo that I get for your 2nd image B is saturated.

Saturn is a difficult target and with mono R, G & B it is really easy to saturate and I never capture R & G with more than a 80% histo while B will totally over power the image if I capture it with a histo of more than 70%.

With the bias of the Bayer matrix on your one shot colour chip I am not sure how this will pan out for you, perhaps you should keep a check on the histo as you follow your processing regime in Astra Image.

This is still a very good data set Freddy but I think you could get an even better final result if you can sort out this "very minor" problem.

I'm no expert on Saturn & histograms however I can tell you what I know with the DBK one shot. It is still 'ethical' to get a full histo at capture time on most targets. This is not possible right now given the brightness of target, the aperture, camera sensitivity etc etc. without sacrificing image scale & frame rates, So all you can do is forget about that & do your best.

I note the only reason that they look somewhat overdone is because you over stepped the mark (only slightly) in Astraimage. Also noted that they'll look different, on different monitors. No big deal.

I'm only getting a 50% histo with my setup @ F25-F30 + 15FPS as well. It'll get better as we head towards opposition later.

I've not had the chance to try RGB with the DMK yet, so I can't comment on that part.
