The UTas radio observatory is having an open on :
Date: Saturday 5th Feb 2011.
Time: 11 am to 4pm
Location: Tasmania, near Hobart, Off Cambridge -- Richmond Rd
Directions: Take Medowbank / Riversdale turnoff, and head for the big dish.
Cost: gold coin donation
This is in conjunction with the Grote Reber Museum; dedicated to the work of this worlds first radio astronomer and astronomy in Tasmania.
-- Take a guided tour of the radio telescope and control room
-- Check out the whispering dishes
-- Find out about Grote Reber; his work as a radio astronomer, and his passion for energy efficiency.
-- Head into space with our virtual reality theater: 3D movies about space
-- Solar observing (weather permitting)
