Great work, Christina, sounds very good to me! Keep getting lots of experience, every chance you get! :thumbsup:
:eyepop: wow Suzy you must be one proud mum :thumbsup: she is so pretty too i hope you got a good short leash on her and a big gun behind the door to keep the boys away :rofl::rofl:
Hey guys, it's Christina here,
Mum just showed me all of your responses and I'm so touched at your kind words of encouragement! I'm really shy about my singing and mum had to really force me to share them around. So to get such positive feed back has been a huge encouragement, I really appreciate it! I was so nervous during hotel california- looking back on it I was like 'WHY DIDN"T I SMILE!?!'
So, sorry if I came across a bit rude in that one, was really worried it looked that way. I did that one especially for mum, the Sheryl Crow one however, I waited to do when they were out, hence the lack of nerves!! :P
So thank you all once again,
Christina :)
From Suzy...
Thanks everyone for your very kind comments.
Warren: Regarding Aust. Idol :lol:, I couldn't imagine her there. I think you need to have nerves of steel and a very thick skin, and then end up going nowhere really when you win :shrug::lol:.
Jen: :lol::lol::lol:
The Hotel California video was really done for my benefit. It's a song her mother :D. When she first started to play guitar, I pleaded with her to learn it so she could play it for me. It's a hard song to play (in the Eagles version, they actually use double fret boards on their guitar). So she had to be playing for a while before she got to the stage of her doing it herself. It's too country for her, so racked with nerves at the tough music, combined with not really being able to get "into it" was a bit a weird for her. She does like the song and plays it often, but not comfortable within in it (as compared to "Soak up the Sun" one.

Great stuff Suzy, She looks great and has a lovely voice. I have lived through a very similar thing with my youngest daughter. She was music mad and now is a music teacher, she is currently in England teaching music. She ended up doing a degree in classical voice and a degree in teaching which gives her a lot of options in life.
Good luck with her future. Looks pretty good so far.

I'm envious Suzy - I have no singing/musical skill. I expect your daughter will gain a lot of personal satisfaction from her talents throughout her life, performing for family and friends.
Many thanks everyone for all those kind comments, looking, and in sharing my excitement. I'm so overjoyed and touched by all your responses! And so is Chrissy! And some of your sweet comments made me *blush* :ashamed: :lol:.
:thanx: OIC for fixing the timing, Chrissy will deal with it today. She was very appreciative of the help, and made a comment of how nice the people are on here. I responded back very proudly in agreement.:)
Tony: She's no fun to play singstar with.:mad2: She used to always get "singstar" while I got told I was "tone deaf". The only song I ever matched her upon was Boy George's "Karma Chameleon" :rolleyes:. And plenty of stuff that I'd just throw the mike down in exasperation as they were so hard. :rolleyes:l I'm sure I sound like a cat in misery :rolleyes::lol:, she doesn't get her talent from me :screwy:.
But mostly of what I'm truly proud of is her guitar playing. She's still learning of course, but she's come a long way, just in 12 months. I have always loved strings, and I have always had plenty of music in the house, so Christina was pretty much brought up on a love for it. But to actually here beautiful guitar strings, live in my home .... words cannot express ... I'll often drop whatever I'm doing, and listen and just take it in.
She's into everything... from Chuck Berry, Sinatra, Hendrix, jazz etc to current - a wonderfully large range of music genres. From the time she was a wee toddler (to today) I used to give her pop quizzes by asking who is singing when a song comes on. And to this day she still mixes up Neil Diamond & Jon English :screwy::lol:
