i had a mixed bag at astrofest this year, but enjoyed the experience non the less....... i have a heap of processing to do and even more repros, even bagged a comet shot. Alan and I had a safe journey home - more later

At last we get some happy snaps, I was beginning to think this years astrofest was a hoax, anecdotal evidence sounding like a Kenny Everett rerun, Ponders AWOL, Tony and Anne Louise deserting the ship and and not being able to confirm the event in person...:P

well another fantastic astro camp,thanks again to the organisers it must be a big task..my boy lachlan really enjoyed him self and i hope he wasn't a pain as there is some expensive gear there i had him on a tight leash....thanks dave for giving lachlan the astro prize he is absolutely stocked!!!!! and the dvd that come with it will fascinate him for ages,he was surprised to see the big dobbies and next year well jump in earlier in the week jonathan and brian to see out of them the final 2 nights were to busy to have a 7 year old trying to use them.. but your patience was appreciated..thanks again we've made some good friends and can't wait to return....

Thanks to everyone on the committee for running a great show with no power outages at all while I was there. Plus a special thanks for having the trophy engraved and dropped over to me in such sort order.

Here's a pic of the trophy in the pool room, pushing the Bali silverware dragon off it's perch.

Wish the QHY9 had behaved and allowed me to feast on photons as I'd planned. Still, I think there may be some decent widefield 50mm stuff to process that wasn't originally in the imaging plan :)

Cheers mate. I only got 3 usable hours of data in 3 days myself Rob. I was hearing that Bing Bong usb noise in my sleep for days after the event :) Looks like it was a power issue in the end :(
