I'm looking to upsize my Ha filter for the ED80. Looking for a Lunt LS75 or Coronado SM60 Ha filter only - I don't need a blocking filter as I already have one.
If you have a matching adapter for an ED80 I'm interested in that as well!;)

Al,
Have you thought about doing a modded PST set-up?
All you need is an 80mm ERF (Baader) - sounds like you have the necessary BF and PST etalon.....

No, not really, Ken. I sold my PST a while ago, but I presume you mean I could use the SM40 etalon?
ATM my heads been in the realm of using my ED80 with the Ha filter so it works as a solar scope, widefield and guide scope without changing scopes on the mount. However, if I really settle down into solar and spectroscopy with the L200, then I suppose I could mount a dedicated solar scope in place of the ED80.

Unfortunately the modded design based around a SM40 type etalon is much more complex than using the etalon from a PST.....
See how you go with your Ad. Maybe a s/h PST +ERF +Vixen 80/800 would work out just as cheap....

HI Guys
I may be upgrading my modded pst (to a 120mm) so may have the following available -
C100ED tube assy cut to length, Baader 90mm D-ERF, so really all youd need is a PST n adapters.
As a matter of interest Ken would a Lunt b1200 work with a pst mod as i know thats the bf Al has. I think Al its worked ok with your sm40?

Yeah the B1200 works fine with the ED80 and the SM40. Thanks for the offer but at this stage I'm still looking for a Ha filter for the ED80 rather than a dedicated solar scope.:)

I'm currently investigating an issue with a BF15 where it appears to work OK on a front etalon (SM60) but no good on a PST....
There was some discussion on CN regards the finesse and bandwidth differences between the Lunt and the Coronado. This certainly could have an negative impact.
I should have a hi-res L200 spectroscope available within the next few days to allow me to accurately measure the SM60/ PST and various blocking filters.
Keep you posted
