Karri Forest

G'day all,

I was doing a lot of looking through old photo's today, trying to find some on slide & negative actually. But I stumbled up on this one (digital) from only 2009 and noticed it wasn't on my website! So added it and thought I'd post it here..

What time of day was this Rog? I'd love to see this with low-angled coloured light on a misty morning or evening. The colours and textures in the tree trunks are soooo interesting!

Yes.. many a photographer has captured the Kari Forest with mist in the early morning :) I'm not one of them yet, the mist and my desire to get up early haven't co-incided yet.

This would have been mid morning, after we'd cooked breakfast on a nearby BBQ.

The bark is a big attraction of the trees. It changes colour a lot during the year, and is easily hilighted by rain. I can't remmber how many shots I've taken of it, and these trees in the last 10 years. The bark is good for graffiti too, 'cause it peals off every year it gets rid of all the things people scratch in to the trees near popular tourist stops :)
