I'm not sure whether this belongs here or in the "Tips, Techniques & Computers" forum - but I'll go here since it probably relates more to beginners... (moderators feel free to move it if applicable).

I just thought there may be some who would be interested to know that the Stellarium software (as per the link which was posted the other day by starcrazzy for v0.5) has a more up to date version available - 0.71.

The interface is nicer, the controls easier (time control is now useable) and a few other things are a little better (see the moons of Saturn fr'instance).
Even shows the current phase of the moon. All in all, cool factor has increased. :cool2:

Hi ThunderChild, thanks for the info. As a beginner I have been using Stellarium and found it very helpful. The update sounds great, I look forward to trying it out tonight. Cheers, Paul. ;)

Think I'll try it too - primarily cause the older version causes my cpu to run at 100% regardless of what it's doing (1 Ghz Duron / 256mb ram) which kills the laptop batteries. Anybody else found this?
