YART - yet another Rosette thread

The target of the week it seems. Managed a few hours before the inevitable occurred and with the current forecast who knows when the next session will be. All up managed 1.5hrs each of Ha and O3, but only 30min of S2. Processed in the Hubble pallet.

Scope: ED80 on HEQ5Pro with EQDIR
Camera: ST-8300 with Baader NB filters
Guiding: SXV-AO at 8Hz

Calibrated/stacked in DSS. Combined/stretched in PS with Ha added as a luminance layer.

YART looks good :)

A little noisy, but it turned out alright...has an almost 3D feel to it.

Apologies for my tardiness but matters of landscaping and family have preoccupied.



Thanks Carl, one of the "benefits" of NB combines can give that 3D feel and overcomes the usual muddy orange tint from the local light pollution. I appreciate you comments.



Thanks David. Noisy it certainly is. :lol: Come from having to stretch the bejesus out of the SII and OIII channels with the limited data. Ha was very strong, but more is needed to smooth out the luminance as well. Thanks for the input.



Thanks Craig, it's a bit photon starved ATM. I started off with 3x10 min subs for all three filters but it needed longer subs. Managed 2x30 min subs for Ha and OIII but cloud put an end to the playtime. :sadeyes: Any more data will all be 30 min or longer.



Thanks Marc. I used images from some of the greats as a guide for the colour but found I really had to stretch the data to bring the reds and blues out. As you know, the OA is awesomely easy as a guide system once set up. Probably preaching to the converted though. :D Thanks for taking the time to respond.



Thanks Mike, NB colour can be a little "avant garde" :P I'll have a go at a less noisy version with some new data I captured last night and this time round I'll try for a really clean luminance layer. Thanks again for your input.

Thanks all for taking the time to look. Another day of wrestling with clay, gypsum and a rotary hoe beckons - topped off with a couple of bags of Moo Poo. Aint life great :screwy:

Updated with more subs for each filter (3 x 30 minutes) and reprocessed.
Colour and noise a bit more subdued this time.

Thanks Robin and Darren, much happier with it. On a different monitor the previous version was a bit um.... gaudy, neon, lumpy - horrible:ashamed: Still plenty wrong mind you, but it is an improvement.

That repro is very good indeed, especially given the modest gear. This image would particularly suit star removal and make it a printable one off starless NB classic ;-).

Thanks H, unfortunately its a new PC at work. BTW I had to shorten the 127ED to use the AO on it. The camera is back there now and the ED80 is away for a while. To bad the weather isn't cooperating. :mad2:
