Great article - I've been waiting for someone to review the Titan in detail; thanks!

Good stuff Matt. I'll never complain hauling my puny G11 around ever again. :P;)

Thanks for the feedback Matthew & Marc. I've been meaning to write up this review for some time now. Hope it helps someone who's looking at the various options out there.

I'd be quite interested to know 3 things:

1. With a say 100 point sky model in either tpoint or maxpoint - how accurate is your pointing - I'd guess +/- 30 arcseconds if your raw pointing with a few stars is +/- 100 arc seconds?

2. What is the PE like once PEC is implemented - guess +/- 3.5 arc seconds?

3. What does the tracking look like on PHD when the titan is carrying a large SCT - what is the RMS error in arc seconds?

I must say it looks really good in your article a great choice of mounts.

* * * * * * * * *

Oh and lastly - has anyone ever done a really indepth review of what the Gemini controller is capable of?

1. Good question. Unfortunately I have neither Maxpoint or TPoint so I can't help you out with this one.

2. I've been meaning to try this out myself although I've heard that guiding works better with the Gemini if PEC is disabled. I hope to try this out using Pempro (weather & time permitting) in the next montrh or so.

3. I plan to mount both my FSQ106 & C11 on the Titan soon (probably using a tandem bar). I'll measure the PE once I have and let you know.

4. Not that I'm aware of. I suggest that you read the Gemini L4 manual which gives a pretty good rundown. The Gemini II is coming out shortly with a bunch on new features.
