What problems can arise from moving your telescope from indoor air temp of approx 23 deg to outside air temp(in winter) of as low as 5 deg ?

The biggest and most noticable problem is likely to be poor seeing while the scope cools. A fan helps to speed up cooling.

Nothing, except for bad thermals and boundary layer of warm air rising off your mirror. A fan will help greatly.
Put your gear out there early, a number of hours, and let it cool slowly to ambient temp.
