Not too clear an image (I haven't aligned the RGB channels!) but I thought this was an interesting view of Jupiter last night at 7:41pm through poor seeing.
The Great Red Spot is right in the middle of some action with the SEB revival bands with a big black spot on its northern boundary.
Cheers,
Tom

Hey Tom, great improvment, small steps and you will get there for sure. I am beginning to think the DSLR can still be a good low cost combination camera now that I have been able to get 22 FPS out of my 450D.

Hi Malcolm. This time I added another 2x teleconverter to the two 1.4x with the 550D. The seeing really didn't help and with that combination the contrast is starting to suffer. I can't wait to see what a night of good seeing will bring.

Jupiter is starting to get low in the sky and this can have an affect of seeing as well. I know that it is going to be difficult for me as the lower elevation leads over the top of the Kwinana Refineries and all the haze spoils the view.

This evening was clear and I found Jupiter before sunset. At 6:38pm Brisbane time I took about 3700 frames of Jupiter when it was about 40 degrees elevation. The seeing was much much better.

Can see a bit more detail in that one. Bit over done on the Waveletts but not bad.

I posted this in another thread, but here is a 30sec video from the same session as the image above:
