View Full Version here: : Stargate Universe
Does anyone know how many episodes were aired on Ch 10 before it was axed? Dont think it was very many .... ? 4/6/8?
It is on tonight on 11 at 8.30, but wondered how many I have already seen?

How could Ch10 put something like Stargate Universe on when the most intelligent shows they could manage to put on air are puerile rubbish like Rove and those ridiculous trash reality shows. It's too high brow for them and the station's demographic :):P

I think the one tonight, where they go to a desert planet looking for something vital, was the last one shown on 10. At least it was the last one I saw.
Well, I think some may class SGU as trash too.
Aah, saw the previews and thought it was the first in the series, but very commonly wrong when comes to TV shows. :D

Hi Liz, CH10 canned it after three weeks:(.
Here's a link to wiki regarding the episodes.
I hope for a third season even though they said it wont happen!

Wash your mouth out :eyepop: this is Stargate we are talking about :D
 Well maybe it is.... just a bit.
From memory the Desert episode was the one immediately following the first episode. That would make it the second episode. See how quick I am. They were looking for Calcium Carbonate to repair the air purifiers. Can't help after that. Its the only two i saw. :D
So, only 3 episodes Bart?
Yeah Paul, I know the quality isnt the same as other Stargates, but its still a Stargate. Would like to watch a few more episodes to be sure its not trash. :D

Oh, man... It started being real good after the first season!!! Its crap how they canned it too soon.. just like how they canned Quantum Leap, Babylon 5, and Firefly.... They never let good scifi run, only "reality tv shows" and soup operas

What do you expect, they're catering to their demographic which has this obsession with mindless voyeurism and puerile trash. Brainless.

I have all the episodes from Series 1 and Series 2 :-)
It did improve a bit before it was axed but I read that is was axed due to the MGM Financial debacle

Excellent:D, the breaks that Stargate Universe has had over it's time have been way to long by any standard break.
It was on (the new) channel 11 last night, so I would think they would go through quite a few episodes.
It was followed by the first episode of Star Trek - TNG :)

I heard it was like sci-fi neighbours :p my friend say
It was pretty terrible and we are both ridiculously obsessed with Stargate. I still think I'll give it a go once ive finished Atlantis :D

I hate to say it and I do not promote it but this is a show that you need to download a internet archive version of the show... ;)
Cause not every person on the planet watches it most channels dont bother playing more then 3-4 eps when you do watch it you get all their stupid adds about whatever carp they are advertising for tommorow etc.... you also watch an episode then its canned the next even if its a "to be continued"
Save youself a headache and just download it. good shows unfortunatly get trashed by bloody carp tv channels.. Of course after downloading and watching (just the same as recording it from tv) buy the dvd's and support the show. this is important to do else there will be no more good shows and just mindless junk instead.
I have come to this very late it seems but my favourite stargate...
I have just been watching teh first 4 episodes and think teh characters are very good. The fact that Robert Carlyle does not stand out is a credit to him, the others and the writers.

I picked up all the progs from vuze - I got to the point of not watching them even after I downloaded them - It got really off the wall - petty squabbles etc.
I have all the stargate and whilst banal in many circumstances, are at least watchable.

It took me some time to get into, but just as they sorted it out they cancelled it. The last one goes to air in the us next week. It is going, I think, to be an ordinary episode to end the series with. They have spent so many episodes building so many story arcs that there is no way you could finish them off in a single hit.

Im a SGU fan too - I hope that they bring it back. :prey:
Cheers Petra d.
Watched the last episode yesterday! I won't give details but the finish was quite well done. I had a tear in my eye! Such a shame that it is now finished, had improved so much since the start of the series! Nothing decent to watch now till Fringe comes back!

Yeah, have watched it, not a bad way to finish it off. Interestingly I believe that the filming for the whole season was done before they axed it so this season was always going to finish that way or something similar. I suppose a few changes could easily have been made in editing after it was filmed and after they found out it was curtains.
Typical of TV production houses and typical of how Sci Fi is often treated, ratings not good enough, jerk it around into exit lounge timeslots, ratings fall further (No surprise there given the times they bumped it to in the US) give it the chop. How they call it the SciFi channel when they put things like wrestling on it I do not know! (I WILL NOT dumb myself down enough to use the term syfy! I know what the name is an abbreviation of and I CAN spell)

You watching it on pay tv or free to air? I will admit to not keeping up with the free to air channels and where they are up to.
