Rosette Nebula HA

Well here is another HA target recently acquired on probably the best two nights of seeing in CBD Adelaide I have ever experienced. The seeing was below 1 arc on both nights with half moon.

This image is comprised of 10 x 20 minute subs in HA.

Wonderful detail and framing with your camera and OTA combination. Certainly has a lot of "impact".

If I'm going to be picky (petty?) I think the highlights in the brightest parts of neb and brightest stars might be a bit blown? It certainly is a learning curve stretching Ha (and I'm no expert for sure) :)

Great shot Mark. Have to agree with Rob though if you can tone down the highs and you will have more detail I think. Whats your set up?

That is one very fine picture Mark.
I think it can have a wee bit more selective sharpening here and there :thumbsup:

Just found this image. Overall it look rather nice but for some critique I would say two issues stand out.

There is a lot of background noise in the original image. Using a mask to control the background noise will help here.

Secondly the stars look over sharpened. This can come about by using curves and sharpening without doing it selectively. The curves function bloats the stars and then sharpening removes the fluffy edge around the stars. Using masks for the sharpening will prevent the stars looking like they do at present.

Any chance of doing a narrow band rendition?

Amazing detail, brilliant image IMO, getting to really like this Narrow band imaging stuff, I hope to try it out one day, when I get my gear back into order... I like the fact you are still shooting from Suburbia and producing clean images like this... amazing.. what brand Ha filter was used?
