There is a lot of misery and shock with all the floods happening at the moment, but there is also a lighter side that shows that us Aussies attempt to keep our spirits up, and try to lighten a bad event for others as well as ourselves.

This thread will probably get more added to it as peoples 'lighter side' appear over the next few days/weeks.

Images of humour, encouragement, heroism and hope.

Here is a funny photo taken outside the flooded Suncorp Stadium (Lang Park)
King Wally Lewis.

Received from a friend of mine in an affected part of QLD:-

"It's been raining heavily for seven days now.
My wife has done nothing but stare through the window.
If it doesn't stop soon, I may have to let her in"

It's good to see that despite the odds people still can retain their sense of humour.

I sure it's little things like those mentioned that really can lift the spirits of people.

Some good stuff happening.

- My sister works in the garden dept of BigW (or one of those big shops) in the suburbs of Brisbane.
They were told any staff can have time off 'with pay' if they choose to be a volunteer with the Brisbane clean up. :)

- A company in Brisbane, 'Bowen Hills Inkjet Labs', will clean photos, scan them, and burn them to disc FOR FREE for flood affected people.

It's great hearing about this stuff :)
