Hydrogen alpha filter question

Anyone have any idea what sort of effect I would get with a Mono CCD and using first a Ha then a Red /Lum filter and stacking? or even using a Ha then red filter at the same time? Would I still have to software augment the colours, would I get more monochrome nebula to see/photograph?

Seeing as now-one else has said anything, i'll try and answer it.

The mono will only show grey images u will have to assign it to the red channel for it to look red, stacking red on top ha filter not going to work well as it only collects the ha signals. U can do rgb and add the ha to it like a lum filter i guess. Does any of that make sense to u ?

You can stack filters but the Ha will only let Ha in regardless of what else you put in the path. It's possible your red filter won't let Ha pass and the Ha won't let red to pass so you'll get nothing. You can produce some pleasing images (http://www.starshed.net/temp/434-Ha.jpg)just using Ha.

I think it will only degrade your results for no benefit. The Ha is only lets through a very small part of the spectrum pass through. Any other filter, at best, will let all of the same radiation though. More likely the extra filter will remove more of the signal and may introduce reflections.
